The Coordinator will develop promotional strategies and coordinate production and distribution of informational resources including those targeting Hispanic populations, encouraging coverage of outreach programs in Hispanic media as appropriate.The Coordinator will evaluate the plan annually and update based on evaluation results from previous years. The Coordinator will develop strong partnerships to help design and implement outreach programs. The plan will identify partners to assist in implementing its strategies. The Coordinator will develop and implement an outreach plan with goals, objectives, target audiences, priority issues, strategies, timelines, budgets, and evaluation methods.The purpose of this position is to ensure that the programs offered by PASO are welcoming and inclusive with a specific focus on Hispanic audiences and other underrepresented groups in the existing participant base. The Diversity Outreach Coordinator will work within PASO’s Conservation Stewardship and Interpretation Program to plan, develop, promote, and evaluate outreach to wildlife management area visitors, participants in our wildlife conservation education programs and the public.Ability to use graphic and web design software including Adobe Creative Suite and Wordpress.
Experience in event planning and management.Applicants who can document strong networks within the Hispanic communities in Florida and the ability to partner with these groups.Ability to: communicate effectively orally and in writing, work independently and prioritize work, collaborate with others, establish, and maintain effective working relationships with others, create and distribute routine reports, utilize problem solving techniques and apply critical thinking skills, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, collect, organize, evaluate, and analyze data, design, edit and produce a variety of program materials.Skilled in using computer software applications particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Experienced in culturally relevant conservation outreach program development and evaluation.Knowledge of human dimensions research and other social science practices to gather information for public engagement.Knowledge of Florida’s natural ecology and wildlife management practices.in a life or physical science, MS preferred.
